Lock out / Tagout

This 8-hr course will provide the student with the necessary skills to confidently present a Lockout/Tagout course. The class will be presented with both theory and practical portions designed to enhance the student’s knowledge and practical experience in Lockout/Tagout.

This course includes an instructor-led review of the current Red Tail Lockout/Tagout course, instructor-led practical skills assessment, instructor manual, class discussion, student-led presentations, and access to additional resources through the Red Tail website portal. Upon successful completion of both the Train the Trainer course and a course audit, the instructor will be certified for three years.

The learning objectives of this course are to ensure that students demonstrate an understanding of the following:

Review of Incident Lockout/Tagout manual and PowerPoint
Review of administrative material including registration forms, supplemental material and Student Exam.
Review and demonstration of Practical components associated with the course
Instructor Teach back presentations

Pre-Requisites

Completion of Red Tail Instructor Development Program
Minimum three-year experience with Lockout/Tagout (References Required)

Current Lockout/Tagout certificate valid on the first day of the Train the Trainer course

Course Recognition

The standards in this program meet or exceed all requirements of CSA, Canada Labour Code, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations for all provinces and territories (excluding Quebec).

As per: CSA Z460:20, CSA Z1001-18(R2022) AB Part 15, B.C Reg Part 10, Manitoba Part 16 and Sask Part 10.
