This 8-hr course will provide the student with the necessary skills to confidently present a Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis course. The class will be presented with both a theory and practical portions designed to enhance the student’s knowledge and practical experience in Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis.

This course includes an instructor-led review of the current Red Tail Hoisting and Rigging Basics course, instructor-led practical skills assessment, instructor manual, class discussion, student-led presentations and access to additional resources through the Red Tail website portal. Upon successful completion of both the Train the Trainer course and a course audit, the instructor will be certified for three years.

Learning Objectives

The learning objectives of this course are to ensure that students demonstrate an understanding of the following:

  1. Review of Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis manual and PowerPoint
  2. Review of administrative material including registration forms, supplemental material and Student Exam.
  3. Review and demonstration of Practical components associated with the course
  4. Instructor Teach back presentations

Pre-Requisites

  • Completion of Red Tail Instructor Development Program
  • Minimum three-year experience with Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis (References Required)
    • (Additional work experience may qualify please contact our admin team for details)
  • Current Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis certificate valid on the first day of the Train the Trainer course

Course Recognition

The standards in this program meet or exceed all requirements of CSA, Canada Labour Code, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations for all provinces and territories (excluding Quebec).
